Rome, Wednesday 8. August 2012: The Delegates of Mr Gay Europe arrived in Rome, Italy Tuesday 7. August 2012.All the guys were excited about being in Rome, and in high spirits for the competition to start. With butterflies in their tummies and a feeling of surrealism, some of the guys became instant friends.
A get-to-know-each-other dinner and Italian food to die for, the guys have made lifelong friends in a matter of just a few hours.
Representatives from Gay Village were there to talk to everyone, and the tone for the work-pace was set quickly. Like sponges, eager for information, the Delegates quickly took to the representatives from Gay Village.
No easing into it, with temperatures of above 40 degrees Celsius, Wednesday starts off with an early wake-up call and it’s straight to the pool for a photo-session after a quick breakfast. Not only will the guys get wet for the camera in the pool, but they will also get to experience the world’s toughest job application; to become the next Mr Gay Europe. A preliminary jury will sit down and interview the Delegates one by one, to decide how everyone performs in this tough task.
As if the day isn’t busy enough, there will also be a Master Class where the Delegates will sit down and do a written test. The same test will be available for the public at MrGayEurope.com towards the end of the day.
On the first day of Mr Gay Europe everyone was sadden by the news that the delegate from Ireland could not come due to illness in his familiy. Our thoughts are with Steven and his familiy.
