I would like to change mentalities to promote rights LGBT. I think that Mr. Gay Europe 2010 must be a charismatic person being able to reassure the homosexuals of any ages. He must also communicate with the gay community to Europe. If I am Mr. Gay Europe 2010, I would propose a European law concerning rights LGBT (marriage, adoption…). I would be a person who listens to the gay community in Europe. I would not be afraid d’ to face the politics.

The reason I want to participate in Mr Gay Europe is to show that we in the LGBT community do live normal lives. Today many societies tend to show and look at gay life in only one stereotypical way: They party, drink, use drugs, have sex and have no thoughts whatsoever on partnership, family, children, adoption, education or career.
This is not the correct picture of people within the gay community and I would like, as an educator for young people in Iceland (and of course also as a role model), to fight this image and show that individuals come in all different colors, shapes and sizes and though being part of the LGBT community – You still live a normal life.
Mr. Gay Europe will be facing a lot of challenges. Amongst those will be human rights and equality things we know alot about in Iceland. In Iceland people of the LGBT community have the same rights as straight people have. I think its important to tell other nations about Iceland‘s progress in gay and lesbian rights and show them that its possible. If we can – so can you.

The reason I am taking part in Mr Gay Europe is because I want to represent the gay community to improve equality, HIV awaremess, homophobia, and gay suicide rates. I feel very strongly about all these issues and want to advocate for them all, I know I cannot change the world however I feel that if chosen as Mr Gay Europe I can use the status to speak on behalf of the people who cannot speak and try to make a difference within the LGBT community.

To win the Mister Gay Europe’s title would be an important occasion to emphasise in Europe the Italian GLBT situation and much more. A situation which comes from the difficulties of who lives everyday the castrating effects of sexual discrimination but which could easily be extended to all Italians who today collects the bitter fruits of Berlusconi’s politics. We are Europeans on the map and in the wallet, but not in politic and for sure not in the head. It is time to conform and progress because being Italian is no longer enough.
Come what may, I would like to create a Delegates Team of work around GLBT issues of each European (and Worldwide) country. One WorldPride or EuroPride a year is not enough for our purposes. I believe that keeping in touch and to talk to our countries is the duty of every Mister Gay and we should work together in this direction.
As I always say: one voice is stronger and clearer than a hum.
